The Container Deposit System Management Organization

The Container Deposit System Management Organization was established on June 10, 2021, as a specialized institution to manage the deposit system. Its mission is to contribute to environmental preservation and the sound development of the national economy by promoting the collection, reuse, and recycling of deposit-based containers such as glass bottles and disposable cups.

Our organization manages the return of deposits, the payment and administration of handling fees and processing support funds, and the enforcement of unclaimed deposits. Additionally, we conduct research and studies related to the deposit system, support institutional improvements, and engage in educational and promotional activities.

Now, transitioning to a carbon-neutral society is not an option but a critical path we must urgently pursue. Single-use resources, once discarded, not only contribute to soil and marine pollution but also release large amounts of greenhouse gases during their production and disposal. Reducing plastic production and consumption, and ensuring that unavoidable plastic use is recycled into raw materials, is the key to achieving a "de-plasticized" society—crucial for carbon neutrality.
